A MESSAGE FROM CO-FOUNDER STEPHEN SIMON
Dear filmmakers in the new genre of Spiritual Cinema:
Since producing SOMEWHERE IN TIME over twenty years ago, I have spoken to thousands of people around the world who agree with me that mainstream Hollywood is not making the kind of movies we want to see. Now, it's time for our voices to be heard. Join me in a declaration: If Hollywood won't make movies with heart and soul, we will. Together, let's demonstrate that movies can entertain and ask the big questions such as "Who are we?" "Why are we here?" and "What can we become?"
As one who has spent the past three decades producing movies, I can tell you that the "old" movie business is in steep decline. I firmly believe that the industry needs more movies with heart and soul, made by directors and writers who have genuine passion for their work. If you feel that way, too, please join me in bringing the genre of Spiritual Cinema to the mainstream.
If you are making (the next WHALERIDER or WAKING LIFE) a film that is uplifting, inspiring and entertaining spiritual cinema, you're encouraged to submit your work for consideration to The Spiritual Cinema Circle. The Spiritual Cinema Circle wants to support and encourage the new wave of filmmakers who are writing and directing movies that really matter. If you believe your work speaks to the shared spiritual essence of us all, we invite you to submit your completed shorts, features and documentaries for consideration to The Spiritual Cinema Circle.
The Circle begins with you.
